Steelers connection to “Spygate”
Here are a few more links regarding Arlen Spector’s probe into “spygate”. (ESPN.com, Tribune-Review) I’m guessing he’s a bitter Steelers fan, and although the team (Cowher, Rooney and several players) seems like they would just assume drop the issue Spector does not seem ready to give up. Is he up for re-election this year?
Another thought, the Steelers reaction to the allegations tell me a few things: 1. They are willing to protect the tight NFL fraternity. 2. They are more forgiving than most. OR 3. Spying on other teams signals is not confined to the sidelines of New England opponents.
Rooney claims it had no impact on Steelers games.
Ed Bouchette of the Post-Gazette reports that Spector says the Pats filmed the Steelers 4 times.
If this “spygate” thing continues to grow in the way that Arlen Spector seems to think it can and should…I’ll certainly have more thoughts. But for now, I’ll probably just provide the links with a few comments here and there.
Final thought (for now): I can’t stand how every scandal all of a sudden becomes “____-gate” I think it’s silly and annoying.
UPDATE: Ok, this is just getting weird. Former Rams player Willie Gary (WHO!?) sues the Pats for spying on their practice prior to their Super Bowl loss to the Pats. Who is this guy anyway?…the only info I can find on him is that he had one tackle in games in 2001. Come on, can we all say frivolous lawsuit?
