Colin Cowherd drives me crazy

I can’t stand lisening to Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio. His abrasiveness drives me crazy. Of course it could be that I’ve never accepted him as an adequate replacement for Tony Kornheiser and Andy Pollin on the TK Show. Put aside all that you think about Tony on MNF and PTI…On the Radio Tony was in his element and at his absolute best. Unfortunately, Colin is what’s on at that time and maybe I tend to like being annoyed daily with constant talk about gambling and strippers…No, I don’t

The point here is Colin Cowherd. He’s at it again, the day after the Super Bowl he is trying to take away from a great game and throw blame at the officials ratehr than simply acknowledging a great game and the fact that the NY G-men simply beat the Patsies. He wouldn’t give Eli the credit he’s finally earned by calling out 3 big breaks, blown calls, that gave the Giants the win, or the position to win.

1. Of course the obvious Amani Toomer push off, pass interference no call that led to a FG.
2. Again an obvious no call when Burress made a catch, a clear football move and then fumbled…
3. Thirdly, Bradshaw’s fumble that was recovered by NE but then ABradshaw wrestled it back away from them to retain possession.

Then he goes on to urge us listeners to look at the facts (his obviously correct opinions) because this is big boy radio and we need to be honest that the refs gave this game to the Pats. Come On Colin.

Mr. Cowherd did this same thing after Super Bowl XL. That’s why I bring this up on 5goldenrings.net. In fact he went a step farther than he did this year and refused to acknowledge on his show that the Steelers were the Champions of SB XL. That’s simply childish.

Seriously, every game has breaks, and every team on either side of the win/loss can play the what if game. Every team can point to a few calls that could go one way or another and then if that happened and this happened we could have, should have, and would have won. That’s ridiculous…Officials are human and humans err. I’m not saying I think they made these mistakes or that I agree with Colin, but we need to accept that this is a very real part of the games we watch and play.

Sure…if it went against the Steelers I would cry about it, but I would accept it. Believe me, had the Steelers not beaten Indy in the Divisional game in 2006 I certainly would still be crying foul over the blown Polamalu interception. But, I would accept it. I also would be the first to say that if we were truly good enough then we should put ourselves in a position where one or two calls won’t cost us a game. Take care of what is in your control…and you have to let go of the rest.
